More Than a Diagnosis

For Havah, advocacy is not just something she does. It is who she is.

After being diagnosed with Stargardt disease and becoming legally blind at a young age, Havah discovered that living with vision loss came with challenges many people did not understand. Instead of allowing those challenges to silence her, she chose to use her voice to educate, encourage, and advocate for others living with blindness, low vision, and disabilities. Through Her Eyes was created to help others see beyond a diagnosis and recognize the strength, courage, and purpose within every person.

Today, Havah serves as a mentor, leader, speaker, author, and advocate across the country, using her story to bring awareness to the blind and low vision community.

  • I use my story to bring awareness, encouragement, and hope to the visually impaired community.
  • I write children’s books inspired by real experiences with vision loss, helping kids feel seen, understood, and brave.
  • Through keynote speaking and advocacy, I encourage others to embrace their own story, learn to advocate for themselves, and confidently ask for the accommodations they need.
  • Through Her Eyes: Living Life Legally Blind was created to empower, encourage, educate, and inspire the visually impaired community through faith, courage, awareness, and real-life experiences.

The Mission Behind Through Her Eyes

Through Her Eyes exists to educate, advocate, and empower.

Havah’s mission is to help others better understand what it truly means to live with blindness and low vision while encouraging young people with disabilities to use their voice, believe in themselves, and recognize the purpose God has placed within their lives.

Because a diagnosis does not take away someone’s purpose.
    Sometimes it helps reveal it.
